* The University Grants Commission (UGC) has proposed seven key changes for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in 2024:
    
    1. **Biannual Admissions**: Universities can now admit students twice a year.
        
    2. **Multiple Entry and Exit Options**: Flexibility for students to pause and resume their studies with certification at various stages.
        
    3. **Dual Degrees**: Students can pursue two degrees simultaneously.
        
    4. **Discipline Flexibility**: Admissions no longer require prior discipline-specific qualifications.
        
    5. **Attendance Relaxation**: Institutions will set attendance norms as per evolving needs.
        
    6. **Skill and Interdisciplinary Focus**: At least 50% of credits in a major with the rest for skills and multidisciplinary studies.
        
    7. **Customized PG Options**: Four-year UG graduates qualify for varied PG durations​

 UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar said CUET will undergo several changes in its 2025 edition to adjust to the changed circumstances considering input from students following a review by an expert panel.
